Proper name of the city is ‘Daejeon.’ Republic of Korea has been using the ‘Revised Romanization’ system from the year 2000, ousting McCune-Reischauer system that had been used before then. Applying the ‘Revised Romanization’ rules to the city, it should be described as ‘Daejeon.’
‘Daejeon’ 이 올바른 표기 방법입니다. 대한민국은 2000년도부터 이전에 사용하던 McCune-Reischauer(매큔-라이샤워 표기법)을 더 이상 사용하지 않고, ‘국어의 로마자 표기법’을 사용해 왔습니다. ‘국어의 로마자 표기법’을 대전에 적용하면 ‘Daejeon’으로 표기되어야 합니다.
